About
The Quadsat QS 6-24 DL extends the drone-based RF antenna measurement concept into higher frequencies, supporting C, Ku, and Ka-band ground station antennas. Operating from 6 to 24 GHz, the system uses a UAV carrying calibrated RF reference antennas to fly prescribed far-field trajectories around the antenna under test.
The measurement campaign produces complete radiation patterns including gain, sidelobe, and cross-polarization without needing an antenna range or halting satellite operations. Post-processing software compares measured patterns to antenna manufacturer specifications, flagging deviations or degradation. This system is particularly valuable for rapid verification of newly installed dishes and for diagnosing pattern asymmetry and blockage effects in operational environments.
