About
The KSF3 “Observer” cluster is the newest-generation of Kleos Space’s RF reconnaissance satellite constellation, consisting of four 6U CubeSats flying in close formation in polar orbit, launched 3 January 2023. Each cluster uses multilateration across up to six antenna pairs to detect and geolocate radio-frequency transmissions such as maritime vessel radios and land-based emitters, feeding Kleos’s Guardian LOCATE data product used for maritime domain awareness and defence intelligence. Kleos Space filed for bankruptcy in Luxembourg in July 2023 and has no employees as of late 2024; this entry documents the cluster’s technical characteristics for historical/technology reference.
