Kleos Space

Kleos Space S.A. was founded in 2017 by CEO Andy Bowyer and CIO Miles Ashcroft to detect and geolocate radio-frequency transmissions from space using clusters of small satellites, delivering data via API/subscription under the "Guardian LOCATE" product for maritime intelligence (illegal fishing, piracy, smuggling, search and rescue) and land-based defence and border security applications. The company was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (KSS) and Frankfurt Stock Exchange (KS1), and its customers included the US National Reconnaissance Office and, from 2023, a partnership with General Atomics.

Kleos launched four CubeSat clusters of four 6U satellites each between November 2020 and January 2023 (Scouting Mission, Vigilance, Patrol, and Observer), each generation adding capability such as X-band radar signal detection.

Kleos Space S.A. filed for bankruptcy in Luxembourg in July 2023 after a creditor withdrew funding, and as of late 2024 the company has no employees and an unresolved asset sale process. This card reflects the company's historical technology and assets; its commercial operations are currently dormant.
