About
The Rudra series is Bellatrix Aerospace’s line of green chemical propulsion thrusters, combining a stable, less-toxic green propellant blend with a proprietary high-performance catalyst to deliver superior performance compared to conventional hydrazine systems. Rudra thrusters are easier and safer to handle during ground processing than hydrazine, reducing operational cost and risk, while extending mission duration through higher achievable specific impulse. The family spans three thrust classes — Rudra-1 (1 N), Rudra-5 (5 N) and Rudra-100 (100 N) — covering attitude control, orbit-raising and station-keeping duties on small to medium satellites. Rudra thrusters were space-qualified together with the Arka electric thruster on ISRO’s PSLV C-58 POEM-3 mission.
