About
The ICE-Lok (Isothermal Card Edge) is ACT’s patented thermally enhanced wedge lock that dramatically reduces the thermal bottleneck between conduction-cooled electronics cards and chassis rails. Unlike conventional wedge locks, ICE-Lok creates additional heat transfer paths through an integral bracket design, reducing total card-to-chassis thermal resistance by more than 33%.
In a representative 100 W system, replacing standard 3/8-inch wedge locks with ICE-Lok 375 units reduces junction-to-chassis temperatures by more than 10°C. The device is VITA 48.2 compliant and integrates seamlessly into existing 3U, 6U, and 9U card formats. Two series are available: ICE-Lok 250 (1/4″) in 7, 9, and 11 wedge configurations, and ICE-Lok 375 (3/8″) in 5, 7, and 9 wedge configurations. Spaceflight heritage in Space VPX platforms.
