About
ACT’s Constant Conductance Heat Pipes (CCHPs) are the industry benchmark for passive spacecraft thermal control, with proven heritage exceeding 118,664,340 space flight hours. Manufactured to exacting aerospace standards under ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D quality systems, every component is fully aerospace-certified. Welding is performed to AWS D17.1 specifications.
The manufacturing process employs multi-stage chemical cleaning, triple distillation for ultra-pure working fluids, helium mass spectrometer leak detection, and specialized thermal performance testing. ACT utilizes proprietary heat pipe simulation models to calculate capillary limits based on exact groove geometry, determining the optimum fluid charge for specific mission applications.
CCHPs are the workhorse of spacecraft thermal management, transporting waste heat from payloads and electronics to radiator panels with no moving parts, no power consumption, and no maintenance requirements. They accommodate a wide range of bending configurations and can be integrated into flat panels, chassis structures, or saddle-mounted to cylindrical components.
