About ST Engineering Satellite Systems

ST Engineering Satellite Systems is the satellite design and manufacturing business of ST Engineering, one of the leading satellite manufacturers in Asia. The division operates full in-house manufacturing and assembly capabilities dedicated to satellite design, testing and manufacturing, and was AS9100 certified in 2016 as a global standard for aviation, space and defence quality management. It pioneered Singapore's first commercial earth observation satellite, TeLEOS-1, which passed its five-year operational mark in 2020, and went on to launch the country's first polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) earth observation satellite, TeLEOS-2, in 2023.

The division's engineering and test facilities include a high-ceiling Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) area, an anechoic chamber, a failure analysis facility and module test capability, a satellite ground control station, and a geospatial analysis centre. Using this infrastructure, the team designs and develops satellite buses that integrate with a range of payloads, including optical cameras and SAR instruments, and performs full in-orbit testing to meet customer mission objectives.

Beyond satellite manufacturing, ST Engineering Satellite Systems offers end-to-end space mission programme management, covering mission analysis, engineering, qualification and flight models, as well as launch management support including rocket sourcing, launch insurance and spacecraft transportation. It also provides integrated ground segment operations for satellite management and distribution of payload data and telemetry among partners and customers. In addition, the division designs, manufactures and tests its own flight-proven space avionics components -- such as the Power Control & Distribution Unit (PCDU) and On-Board Computer (OBC) -- both for its own satellite programmes and for sale to other space solution providers.
