ForgeStar
Reusable in-space manufacturing platform for growing high-value semiconductor materials in microgravity and returning them to Earth.
Description
ForgeStar is Space Forge's reusable in-space manufacturing platform, designed to carry semiconductor-growth payloads such as chemical vapor deposition reactors into orbit, expose them to microgravity for improved material quality, and return the produced materials to Earth using the Pridwen reentry heat shield. ForgeStar-0 was lost in a launch failure in 2023, and ForgeStar-1 launched in June 2025 and successfully operated its onboard CVD payload, nicknamed Lucy, in orbit.
