SpaceFields Private Limited

SpaceFields is an Indian aerospace startup founded in 2021 and publicly operating since April 2022, based in Bengaluru. It was founded by Sudarshan Samal (CTO), Apurwa Masook (CEO) and Rounak Agrawal (COO), engineers from VSSUT Odisha who previously ran VSLV, India's first student rocketry team, completing seven sounding rocket launches. The company is incubated at IISc Bengaluru and supported by Indian, Karnataka and Odisha government programs.

SpaceFields develops high-performance solid composite propellants, energetics and chemical process R&D, and integrated next-generation propulsion systems and rocket motors using an in-house first-principles design-build-test approach. It serves aerospace, defense, pyrotechnics, and RATO systems for UAVs.

Notable milestones include testing India's first aerospike rocket engine in September 2024 and closing an oversubscribed $800,000 seed round in February 2024, its first institutional funding, backed by SiriusOne, AIC GUSEC and Nepra among others. Named partners include Bharat Forge, Aethrone Aerospace, Akashalabdhi and Unnayan Defence.
