Hyperfield-1
12 kg 6U hyperspectral CubeSat with a patented tunable VNIR imager, operational in orbit.
Description
Hyperfield-1 is Kuva Space's operational hyperspectral Earth-observation microsatellite, built as a 6U CubeSat. It carries a patented tunable VNIR (visible-near-infrared) hyperspectral imager covering the 475-950 nm spectral range at 25 m ground resolution, operating from a 500 km polar sun-synchronous orbit. Two units have flown: HF-1A launched in August 2024 and HF-1B in June 2025, both aboard SpaceX Falcon 9 rideshare missions, forming the first satellites of Kuva Space's planned constellation delivering sub-daily hyperspectral coverage for agriculture, aquaculture, environmental monitoring, forestry and security applications.
