Kepler Communications

Kepler Communications was founded in 2015 in Toronto with the vision of building an orbital cloud infrastructure — bringing the compute, storage, and connectivity capabilities of terrestrial cloud platforms into low Earth orbit. The company operates a constellation of LEO satellites providing real-time data relay, telemetry, tracking and command (TT&C) for other satellites, and broadband connectivity for customers in remote regions.

Kepler's KIPP microsatellite constellation provides store-and-forward and real-time data relay services for IoT devices, sensor networks, remote maritime vessels, and ground assets operating beyond cellular coverage. The company's KepNet service provides broadband connectivity with LEO latency advantages over traditional GEO satellite internet, serving maritime, aviation, and remote industrial customers. Kepler is also developing on-orbit compute and storage infrastructure to support edge processing of satellite data before downlink — reducing the bandwidth required to transmit useful processed results rather than raw imagery or sensor readings.

Kepler has raised significant venture capital and positioned itself as a Canadian challenger in the orbital communications market, focusing on the infrastructure layer that enables other space systems to operate more efficiently. The company is growing its constellation and service portfolio toward a comprehensive orbital cloud offering.
