About
The Load-bearing Structure of the Enclosure Type 1-A is a cylindrical grid shell made from carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) with two interface rings, produced by Glavkosmos for spacecraft bus construction. Its purpose is mounting spacecraft subsystem structural elements and equipment, forming the primary load-bearing shell of the spacecraft enclosure. It has been flight-qualified since 2000 and can accommodate a high-pressure metal-xenon tank unit. This configuration uses B95 aluminum alloy for both the upper and lower interface rings, with spiral fins spaced at a 6-degree angle between intersection nodes and 28 degrees between adjacent spiral fins, spiral fin thickness of 6+1 mm and circumferential fin thickness of 2+1 mm. Glavkosmos can adapt the design to individual customer requirements on request.
