About

GITAI’s robotic arm systems are autonomous and teleoperable manipulators developed for both in-space and lunar surface applications, aimed at replacing costly and risky human extravehicular activity with cost-effective robotic labor. The flagship 1.5-meter-long autonomous dual robotic arm system integrates high-precision torque-controlled joints, force/torque sensing, and dexterous end-effectors capable of tool-use, cable connection, panel installation, and general assembly tasks. GITAI has also developed a pressurized lunar rover concept and inchworm-type robots that can walk hand-over-hand across a space station’s exterior truss structure. The company demonstrated its technology on the International Space Station in 2021 via a GITAI-built robotic arm operated inside the Bishop Airlock under a contract with Nanoracks, performing panel assembly, switch operation, and cable connection tasks in microgravity. GITAI has since been selected for NASA and commercial lunar surface robotics programs and continues to develop external, vacuum-rated robotic arm variants for future ISS and commercial space station servicing missions.
