About

Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions’ Space RF Filters are compact, rugged microwave and millimeterwave filter and multiplexer assemblies purpose-built for commercial, civil, military and government spacecraft. Drawing on CAES’ 40+ years of space heritage, the product line spans lumped element, combline cavity, and printed filter topologies, plus multi-filter multiplexer assemblies with 2 to 40+ channels. The filters provide total spectrum control for satellite communications, earth observation, and space exploration payloads, with connectorized and surface-mount packaging options in frequency ranges up to 50 GHz. They deliver low insertion loss and high sensitivity, narrowband or broadband performance, with rejection bandwidths no more than 20% greater than the passband. High power handling exceeds 5 watts peak and 1 watt average, while phase matching/tracking is held to less than 2 degrees. Designs can be miniaturized to under 0.15 inches in height and under 10 grams in weight to meet spacecraft size, weight, and power constraints. The manufacturing processes behind the line have flight-proven pedigree on satellites, launch vehicles, and shipboard platforms.
