About

China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC), established in 1980, is the exclusive commercial marketing and contracting arm for China’s Long March rocket family and satellite exports on the international market, a role formally authorized by the Chinese government in 1986. CGWIC provides ‘one-stop’ commercial launch services spanning launch vehicle procurement, satellite in-orbit delivery, launch and early-orbit operations, insurance brokering, and rideshare/piggyback launch opportunities. Its offered fleet spans the Long March 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 11 series, covering small rideshare payloads up to heavy GTO and LEO missions, launched primarily from Xichang Satellite Launch Center, Wenchang Space Launch Site, Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, and Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center. China’s first international commercial launch was AsiaSat-1 aboard a Long March 3 in April 1990, making China the third nation able to offer commercial launch services. Notable international flight heritage includes NigComSat-1/1R for Nigeria, VeneSat-1 for Venezuela, PakSat-1R and PRSC-EO1/EO2 for Pakistan’s SUPARCO, APSTAR series communications satellites, and BelinterSat-1 for Belarus. By CGWIC’s own reporting, it has completed over 100 commercial launch missions.
