The 4G32-Advanced (also designated 4G32C-Advanced) is AZUR SPACE Solar Power GmbH’s flagship space solar cell, built as an AlInGaP/AlInGaAs/InGaAs/Ge upright metamorphic quadruple-junction device grown on a germanium substrate. It was the first metamorphic four-junction cell brought to market for GEO applications, delivering 32%-class beginning-of-life efficiency at AM0 conditions and industry-leading end-of-life performance after radiation exposure. The cell incorporates AZUR SPACE’s proprietary radiation-hardened design, giving it exceptionally high voltage and best-in-class power-per-mass and price-per-watt at end-of-life. It is supplied as a bare cell (100 mm or 150 mm substrates) with welding pads for interconnect attachment, and is also offered as coverglass-interconnected cell assemblies and, through partner Sierra Space, in a surface-mount configuration. Targeted at satellite manufacturers needing maximum power density on small array areas and low mass, the 4G32 product line carries orbit TRL-9 flight heritage, building on AZUR SPACE’s decades-long track record supplying cells for GEO telecom satellites, LEO constellations, and Earth observation/navigation missions such as Intelsat, Globalstar, Hotbird, Galileo, Meteosat, Glonass, GMES/Copernicus, and OneWeb spacecraft.
