About
The µCAT (Micro Cathode Arc Thruster) is a miniaturized electric propulsion system developed by Aliena, a Singapore-based space startup. Using a solid titanium propellant and requiring no pressurized propellant tank, the µCAT is exceptionally compact and safe for CubeSat integration. It generates thrust via cathodic arc discharge, achieving high specific impulse in an extremely small form factor. Aliena’s systems have been deployed on multiple CubeSat missions and offer attitude control, orbit raising, and deorbit capabilities.
