About Xplore Inc.

Xplore Inc. was founded in 2017 by Jeff Rich and Lisa Rich in Redmond, Washington, with a mission to make space accessible as a service rather than a one-off hardware sale. The company's engineering foundation is its XCRAFT multi-mission spacecraft bus, an ESPA-class platform designed to carry a wide range of sensors and payloads across low Earth orbit, cislunar space, and deep-space trajectories out to the asteroid belt. Development of Xcraft was accelerated with a $2 million contract from the Defense Innovation Unit's National Security Innovation Capital program in 2021, and the platform has since flown on rideshare missions including a hyperspectral smallsat launched on Bandwagon-2.

On top of the Xcraft platform, Xplore has built out a Space as a Service business spanning three offerings: Data as a Service, delivering multi- and hyperspectral, shortwave-infrared, RGB, UV and RF remote-sensing products for agriculture, defense and intelligence, energy, environment and maritime customers; Compute as a Service, providing on-orbit edge processing for payload data; and Operations as a Service, built around the Major Tom satellite operations and mission-control software used to fly spacecraft from entry-level missions up to full constellations.

Xplore has been awarded contracts from the National Reconnaissance Office for commercial hyperspectral imagery and holds a NOAA commercial remote-sensing license, and it partners with firms such as SkyWatch and UP42 to distribute its Earth-observation data. The company continues to position its Xcraft heritage — validated through NSIC-funded development and on-orbit flight — as the hardware backbone supporting its shift toward a recurring, data- and software-driven space services model.
