TRL11

TRL11 is a US space technology company headquartered in Irvine, California, building the complete visual intelligence stack for space operations - from onboard cameras and edge-compute recorders to AI processing, resilient downlink software, and mission-control applications. Its hardware line (FOVEA, TRICLOPS, QuadClops, SAVER) captures full-motion 4K video and multi-camera imagery for own-ship awareness, rendezvous, proximity operations and docking, while its VIP software suite performs on-orbit anomaly detection, object characterisation and region-of-interest extraction before data ever reaches the ground.

Founded in 2022 by Nicol Verheem, founder of the wireless video pioneer Teradek (whose systems carried the first live HDTV, UHD and 3D video from NASA and SpaceX missions, including Dragon's first ISS docking and Falcon 9's first drone-ship landing), TRL11 closed a pre-seed funding round of over $3 million in May 2023 and flew its first prototype payloads to orbit within a year of founding.

TRL11's customers include commercial satellite operators, space station developers and government/defence agencies that need real-time visual situational awareness on orbit. The company's video payloads have flown on missions including VAST's Haven-1 space station and Transporter rideshare missions, and it has partnered with companies such as Starris to deliver intelligent video payloads for other spacecraft programmes.
