About Terra Space Lab

Terra Space Lab (TSL) Ltd is an Israeli space-technology and remote-sensing company founded in December 2020 to provide global, hypertemporal monitoring of forests, wildfires, and the environment. TSL builds AI-driven analytics tools that today run on data from existing multispectral and infrared satellites, and is developing a future constellation of multispectral IR nanosatellites to deliver much higher revisit rates and faster response times.

The company's platform addresses two service tiers: time-critical wildfire services, including real-time early warning through Fire Radiative Power (FRP) measurement to gauge fire intensity even through smoke, and see-through-smoke situational-awareness imagery for firefighters; and non-time-critical environmental services, including forest inventory (tree count, size, composition and distribution), forest biomass and carbon-capture mapping, burned-area and carbon-emission estimation for carbon-credit markets, and greenhouse-gas detection in support of Net Zero and forest carbon-offset trading.

TSL was founded by a team with backgrounds at Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), the Israeli Air Force and the Israeli MOD Space Directorate, chaired by Joseph Weiss (former President & CEO of IAI), and led by CEO Moshe Shachar, with an advisory board including Prof. Daniel Rosenfeld (Hebrew University atmospheric science) and Dr. Omri Bonneh (former Chief Scientist of Israel's KKL forestry authority). The company was named one of three winners of the 'Most Promising Space Startup' title at SpaceTech Summit 2022, and partners with organizations including the Israel Space Agency, WeatherStream, NanoAvionics, Redler Technologies, RP Optical Lab and Motion Dynamix.
