About Telnet Holding

Telnet Holding (Groupe TELNET) is a Tunisian technology engineering and product-development group founded in 1994 and headquartered at the Technocentre du Lac in Tunis, with subsidiaries and offices in France, Germany, Saudi Arabia and the USA. Beyond its core R&D-outsourcing, embedded systems, IoT and telecom-integration businesses, the group runs a dedicated space activity built around ChallengeOne, Tunisia's first satellite program.

ChallengeOne is a nanosatellite designed and developed in-house by Telnet as a "Space for IoT" gateway: an on-orbit LoRa (Long Range) receiver that collects low-bandwidth telemetry from ground-based IoT terminals used for precision agriculture, road/infrastructure monitoring, and asset and vehicle tracking and localization. The spacecraft carries an aluminum structure, an on-board computer (OBC), an electrical power system (EPS) with solar panels, an attitude determination and control system (ADCS), multiple LoRa patch antennas for the terminal uplink, and a UHF antenna (401-402 MHz) for downlink and satellite configuration. It was launched on a Soyuz-2 rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome into a 550 km low Earth orbit, with a planned five-year mission life.

In August 2021 Telnet signed a partnership agreement with Thales Alenia Space in Cannes, France, reflecting the group's continued push into satellite manufacturing and space-systems engineering alongside its established terrestrial technology businesses.
