Tata Advanced Systems (Space)

Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Sons and the strategic Aerospace & Defence arm of the Tata Group, operating across Aerostructures & Aero-Engines, Airborne Platforms & Systems, Defence & Security, and Land Mobility divisions, and partnering with major global OEMs including Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Sikorsky, and GE.

Within its Airborne Platforms & Systems division, TASL has expanded into the space sector, becoming one of only three private companies selected by ISRO for satellite Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) work. In November 2023, TASL signed an agreement with LEO satellite manufacturer Satellogic to build India's first fully integrated private satellite manufacturing facility, located in Vemagal, Karnataka.

The facility's first output, TSAT-1A, an Earth observation satellite, launched on a Falcon 9 in April 2024. TASL's space business is currently structured around AIT services for satellite manufacturers rather than a standalone hardware product catalog.
