About SpaceWorks Enterprises
SpaceWorks Enterprises, Inc. (SEI) was founded in 2000 by Dr. John Olds on the cusp of the NewSpace revolution, with a vision of accelerating novel aerospace design methods, technologies, and business models. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the company has grown from a small startup into a diversified group of collaborative business units spanning conceptual design consulting, defense and space hardware, and aerospace engineering software, and has spun off several ventures including Generation Orbit Launch Services, Blink Astro, and Terminal Velocity Aerospace.
SpaceWorks' Defense & Space product line focuses on rapid prototyping, hardware test, and mission-ready hardware. Its RED family of entry systems (RED-25, RED-Data, RED-Phoenix) provides on-demand payload return from orbit, high-Mach thermal protection system and sensor testing, and recoverable hypersonic materials testbeds, while RED-Rescue is an air-launched drone delivery device for personnel recovery and disaster relief missions. The company's Space Operations line includes FuseBlox, a patented spacecraft docking and commodity transfer connector providing power and data transfer between docked spacecraft, and a Mono-propellant Deorbit Stage (MPDS), an affordable in-space maneuvering stage for deorbit, debris cleanup, and satellite servicing missions.
Beyond hardware, SpaceWorks also develops and licenses aerospace engineering software (Cart3D Plus, Kingfisher, Manta, QuickShot, REDTOP) used for CFD, trajectory optimization, and propulsion design, and provides advanced development consulting services covering conceptual and preliminary engineering design for hypersonics, human lunar exploration, and space access vehicles. The company's leadership team, several with 20+ years of tenure and Georgia Tech aerospace engineering backgrounds, guides its work supporting national defense and the commercialization of spaceflight.
