SpaceSail is the commercial brand and LEO broadband satellite constellation project of Shanghai Spacecom Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. (SSST), a Chinese commercial satellite company headquartered in Shanghai. The Qianfan ("Thousand Sails") constellation, marketed as SpaceSail, plans to deploy thousands of low Earth orbit satellites to provide high-speed broadband internet connectivity across China and internationally. SpaceSail is positioned as China's leading commercial alternative to Starlink, competing in the global satellite broadband market by leveraging China's industrial capacity, commercial satellite manufacturing expertise, and launch infrastructure to build a large-scale LEO broadband network serving consumers, enterprises, and government users.
