About SpacePharma

SpacePharma is a Swiss-Israeli micro-gravity biotech company, founded in 2012 by Yossi Yamin and Martin Aebi, positioned as the first fully private, commercially-oriented company built specifically to conduct pharmaceutical research and development and manufacturing in space. Its core innovation is a family of miniaturized, fully automated lab-on-a-chip laboratories built on proprietary microfluidics and precision fluid-handling technology, enabling biology, biochemistry, and protein-crystallization experiments to run autonomously in microgravity without a human operator.

Its flight heritage spans free-flying nanosatellites (DIDO 2 in 2017, DIDO 3 in 2020) and numerous ISS resupply missions since 2017 (Nexus 1 and 2, SPAd, SPAd 2, and continuing SpaceX CRS and Northrop Grumman Cygnus flights through 2026), totaling 8-plus ISS tours plus parabolic-flight campaigns. Areas of research supported include monoclonal-antibody and protein crystallization, stem-cell biology, microbiology and antibiotic resistance, aging models, cancer tissue models, and fluid physics.

The company operates from Herzliya (Israel, R&D), Courgenay (Switzerland, legal seat), Palo Alto (USA), and a dedicated lab facility at the Space Life Sciences Lab, Exploration Park, Florida. It is currently developing Spactory, a next-generation, larger-capacity automated drug-manufacturing platform under the EU's EIC Accelerator program, and continues to win ESA BSGN-funded microgravity research contracts.
