Space SPiN

SPiN (Space Products and Innovation) is an Italian space technology company founded in 2015 and headquartered in Frascati (Rome), developing modular satellite manufacturing technology to reduce the cost and time required to design and integrate satellites. The company's flagship product is the MA61C (Multipurpose Adapter Generic Interface Connector), a universal plug-and-play intelligent data node that enables off-the-shelf components to be rapidly connected and integrated into satellite systems without custom interfaces. SPiN's "modularity as a service" approach is designed to reduce satellite design costs by 50 percent, production costs by 30 percent, and integration time by approximately one year. The company launched the SPiN-1 CubeSat in 2022 to demonstrate its modular platform concept in orbit and has a second satellite planned. SPiN has offices in Italy, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, and the United States, has participated in the Techstars Allied Space Accelerator and ESA BIC Bavaria programmes, and was selected as one of ESA's 20 Rising Stars companies at the International Astronautical Congress in Milan in 2024. The company closed a EUR 1.63 million seed round in January 2024, led by Galaxia (CDP Venture Capital), with participation from Obloo Ventures, Scientifica Venture Capital, and Innova Venture.
