About Space One — KAIROS

Space One Co., Ltd. is a Japanese commercial launch services company developing the KAIROS small launch vehicle — Japan's first commercial small rocket — for dedicated small satellite launch services from the Kii Spaceport in Kushimoto, Wakayama Prefecture. Founded with backing from Canon Electronics, IHI Aerospace, Shimizu Corporation, and Development Bank of Japan, Space One aims to be the first Japanese commercial launch provider to achieve orbital flight with KAIROS, a four-stage solid-propellant rocket designed to deliver up to 250 kg to sun-synchronous orbit. The company targets domestic and international small satellite customers requiring dedicated, responsive, and affordable launch access from Japan.
