Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL)

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is a nonprofit government contractor owned by Utah State University in Logan, Utah, formed in 1982 from the merger of USU's Electro Dynamics Laboratories (founded 1959) and the University of Utah's Upper Air Research Laboratory (founded 1948). SDL designs, fabricates, and operates sensors and instruments for airborne, rocket-borne, space shuttle, and satellite applications. The laboratory has contributed to over 430 payloads and is recognized for its expertise in infrared sensors, electro-optical instruments, remote sensing payloads, and small satellite systems. SDL has supported NASA, DoD, and commercial missions including the ISS-mounted AWE atmospheric imager.
