Beijing Smart Satellite Space Technology Co., Ltd. (Chinese: 智星空间科技有限公司, also known as Zhixing Space Technology) is a Chinese commercial satellite company founded in May 2018 in Beijing, specializing in the development and operation of commercial synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites for high-resolution Earth observation. The company is the first commercial aerospace enterprise in China focused exclusively on SAR satellite technology and was the first Chinese commercial company to register an X-band SAR satellite with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Smart Satellite Technology launched its prototype Smart Satellite 1A aboard Long March 8 in December 2020, followed by Smart Satellite 2A (Zhixing 2A), carrying China's first commercial X-band SAR payload, launched in February 2024 on a SmartDragon-3 launch vehicle. The company is building a planned 12-satellite X-band SAR constellation for millimeter-level deformation monitoring with hourly revisit coverage of any location on Earth, with investors including Z Ventures, Beijing Qingke Tongrun Technology Investment, and Yunshan Private Equity Investment Fund.
