Platino Small Satellite Platform
Description
Platino is SITAEL's small satellite platform developed in partnership with the Italian Space Agency (ASI) as a national flexible and modular platform for Earth observation and science missions. The Platino bus supports payloads up to 70 kg and provides up to 400 W of power. SITAEL built and integrated the Platino-1 spacecraft, which carries a hyperspectral imaging payload called DESIS (DLR Earth Sensing Imaging Spectrometer) operated by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and was deployed from the International Space Station in 2018. The Platino platform features a 3-axis stabilization system with sub-arc-minute pointing accuracy and is designed for rapid manufacturing as a reconfigurable low-cost small satellite.
