Satlyt

Satlyt is an American space technology company founded in 2024 by Rama Afullo, a former SpaceX Starlink product manager, and headquartered in San Francisco, California. The company develops software platforms for federated AI and edge computing infrastructure in low Earth orbit, enabling multiple satellites from different operators to collaborate as nodes in a distributed computing mesh in space — effectively creating virtual AI data centers in orbit. Satellite operators can use Satlyt's open, software-first platform to share, trade, and monetize unused onboard computing capacity, allowing satellites to process and analyze data on-orbit before downlinking to ground stations. The company has licensed DiskSat technology from The Aerospace Corporation, partnered with Star Catcher to pair its computing platform with an orbital power delivery network, and has signed agreements with satellite operators in the US, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Satlyt has been selected for the NASA Small Business Technology Transfer program and the Google AI Infrastructure Academy, and has raised approximately $1 million in pre-seed funding from Antler VC and other investors.
