SatEnlight

SatEnlight is an Italian optical communication technology company headquartered in Milan (Via Timavo 34 / Via Celoria 16), developing next-generation optical communication systems based on Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) multiplexing technology, which enables multiple independent data streams to coexist within a single optical beam, substantially increasing free-space optical data transmission capacity beyond traditional spectral approaches. The company has demonstrated over 1 Gbps data rates, completed 3.5 km urban outdoor free-space optical link tests, achieved multiplexing of up to 4 OAM channels, and secured €1.3M in seed funding, with applications spanning satellite optical downlinks, inter-satellite links, UAV communications, and secure defence communications. SatEnlight is incubated by ESA BIC Padua, targeting satellite constellation operators, defence agencies, and commercial customers requiring high-bandwidth, secure, and interference-resistant free-space optical communication systems.
