Satelles Inc. is a US company that developed the Satellite Time and Location (STL) service, an alternative and complement to GPS and GNSS that delivers resilient, high-precision timing and positioning signals via the Iridium low Earth orbit satellite constellation, enabling navigation and synchronisation in environments where GPS signals are unavailable, jammed, or spoofed. The STL signal transmits 1,000 times stronger than GPS at Earth's surface due to the low orbital altitude of Iridium satellites, making it effective indoors, underground, in urban canyons, and in GPS-denied or adversarial environments. Satelles has been integrated into Iridium's commercial services and serves financial institutions, telecommunications networks, power grids, defence agencies, and critical infrastructure operators requiring assured, GPS-independent time synchronisation.
