PERSEI Space

PERSEI Space is a Spanish deep-tech company founded in September 2023 as a spin-off of the E.T.PACK European Innovation Council-funded projects, a consortium led by Universidad Carlos III de Madrid together with TU Dresden, the University of Padua, and SENER Aeroespacial. The company specializes in electrodynamic tether (EDT) technology for space debris mitigation and in-orbit satellite servicing. Electrodynamic tethers are long conductive tapes that interact with Earth's magnetic field and ionospheric plasma to generate propellant-free thrust, enabling satellites to lower or raise their orbits without fuel. PERSEI's flagship product, PEARSON, is a 20 kg, 12U autonomous deorbiting device designed to safely and reliably deorbit satellites, upper stages, and payload adapters. In 2024, PERSEI signed its first commercial contract with Thales Alenia Space for mission analysis services and has signed the ESA Zero Debris Charter.
