Parabilis Space Technologies, LLC is an American hybrid rocket propulsion company headquartered in San Marcos, California, founded in 2014 by a team of former SpaceDev Corporation engineers who previously developed hybrid rocket motors for SpaceShipOne, winner of the 2004 Ansari X Prize for the first privately funded human spaceflight. The company designs, develops, and tests hybrid solid-liquid rocket propulsion systems for space launch and in-space propulsion applications, with a primary manufacturing and engineering facility in San Marcos and a dedicated propulsion test facility in Ramona, California. Parabilis developed the Hybrid Orbital Transfer Stage (HOTS), a green-propellant in-space propulsion stage capable of injecting small payloads into lunar and cislunar orbits, and the Dense Orbital Transfer System (DOTS), a high-impulse propulsion system developed under US Space Force contract. The company has received NASA Phase I and Phase II SBIR contracts for hybrid motor development using its patented Aft-injection, Center Exhaust (ACE) design targeting Mars sample return missions and trans-lunar injection applications, and Department of Defense contracts for propellant loading systems.
