GEMS2
Planned operational follow-on radiometer constellation with upgraded dual-frequency sensing.
Description
GEMS2 is Orbital Micro Systems' planned operational follow-on to the IOD-1 GEMS demonstrator, intended to scale to a constellation of up to 48 CubeSats. It upgrades to a dual-frequency radiometer operating at both 118 GHz and 183 GHz across 24 channels, co-developed with Thomas Keating Ltd. and built with AAC Clyde Space on a 6U platform, targeting 16km spatial resolution and a 15-minute global data latency for near-real-time atmospheric and weather intelligence.
