ONDO Space

ONDO Space LLC is Mongolia's first commercial LEO CubeSat company, founded in 2022 by Japanese-educated Mongolian space technology engineers. Headquartered in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, the company launched its first two 0.5U CubeSat satellites — ONDOSAT-OWL-1 and ONDOSAT-OWL-2 — aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in March 2024, orbiting at 550 km altitude. ONDO Space pioneers low-bandwidth, bi-directional satellite IoT communication technology, with early applications focused on livestock tracking for nomadic herders and long-haul trucking monitoring in areas with no mobile network coverage. The company plans to grow its constellation to 176 IoT satellites by 2027 and has signed an MoU with ispace to explore future lunar program collaboration in Mongolia.
