OhmSpace

OhmSpace is an Italian aerospace startup founded in 2021 by Federico Romei and Matteo Careddu, developing advanced resistojet propulsion systems for satellites across all orbit classes. The company's flagship STAR (Super-high Temperature Additive-manufactured Resistojet) thruster uses selective laser melting (SLM) 3D printing to achieve heater temperatures exceeding 2,000°C, delivering up to 70% better propellant efficiency compared to conventional resistojet thrusters. OhmSpace's propulsion technology targets LEO constellation operators, GEO platform manufacturers, and any satellite requiring compact, high-efficiency electric propulsion. The company received multiple ESA contracts and closed a €2.5 million seed funding round led by Galaxia with participation from CDP Venture Capital and Obloo Ventures, with two in-orbit demonstration missions planned for 2026.
