NPK Barl

NPK Barl (JSC NPK BARL, Research and Production Company BARL) is a Russian space technology company officially registered in its current form in 2004, with roots tracing to specialists from the Russian Space Research Institute and the Priroda State Center. Based in Moscow, the company develops satellite components and payloads including TT&C and high-rate RF links, ground segment systems for satellite data reception and processing, and GIS software for geospatial data analysis and visualization. NPK Barl was involved in the development of the Iranian Khayyam Earth observation satellite in cooperation with VNIIEM. The company was added to the US State Department's sanctions list in 2018 for alleged violations of rules on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
