Nigcomsat

Nigcomsat refers to Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT Ltd.), the Nigerian government-owned satellite operator founded in 2005 to develop and operate Nigeria's sovereign satellite infrastructure. Nigcomsat operates NigComSat-1R, a geostationary multi-band satellite launched in December 2011 on a Chinese Long March 3B rocket, providing C-, Ku-, Ka-, and L-band capacity across Nigeria, Africa, Europe, and Asia. Services include Direct-to-Home broadcasting, broadband internet, VSAT, telemedicine, and government communications. Nigcomsat represents Nigeria's commitment to achieving communications sovereignty and leveraging satellite technology for national development, digital inclusion, and the growth of Africa's digital economy.
