Nautilus - Navigation in Space

Nautilus - Navigation in Space S.r.l. is an Italian deep-space navigation company founded in 2021 as a spin-off from the University of Bologna (Università di Bologna), specializing in flight dynamics services for deep-space and small satellite missions. Headquartered in Bologna, Nautilus is Europe's first and only private operator capable of navigating and steering SmallSats in deep space, providing mission design, trajectory analysis, orbit determination, and autonomous guidance and navigation and control (GNC) for small satellite platforms. The company is responsible for the ground segment design and flight dynamics operations for the Lunar Meteoroid Impact Observer (LUMIO), an ESA CubeSat mission to be launched in 2027 that will observe the far side of the Moon from a halo orbit around the Earth-Moon L2 Lagrange point. Nautilus is supported by ESA's Commercialisation Gateway and the Emilia-Romagna regional innovation ecosystem.
