Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC)

Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) is the UAE's national space agency and research center, established in 2006 in Dubai under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. MBRSC is responsible for leading and managing the UAE's space sector, developing satellite technology capabilities, and executing ambitious national space missions. The center built and operates the DubaiSat-1 (2009), DubaiSat-2 (2013), and KhalifaSat (2018) Earth observation satellites, and led the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) — "Hope Probe" — launched in July 2020, making the UAE the first Arab nation and fifth country in history to reach Mars. MBRSC also oversees the UAE Astronaut Program that sent Hazza Al Mansouri to the International Space Station in 2019 and manages the Emirates Lunar Mission (Rashid Rover, 2022). The center is a cornerstone of the UAE's broader ambitions under the National Space Strategy 2030 to establish a sustainable space economy.
