MBRYONICS

MBRYONICS is an Irish deep-tech company headquartered in Shannon and Galway, Ireland, developing laser-based free-space optical communication systems for satellite constellations — described as "building the internet in space." The company's flagship product is TeraBIX, a radiation-hardened silicon photonic transceiver designed for high-speed, low-power inter-satellite links (ISL) and satellite-to-ground optical communication. TeraBIX integrates radiation-hardened electronics in a hermetically sealed package capable of surviving the LEO radiation environment, enabling terabit-capacity space optical networks. MBRYONICS also develops Starcom terminals (lightweight phased array satellite user terminals), optical ground stations, and AI-optimized software-defined networking (SDN) for managing optical routing in satellite constellations. The company secured €17.5 million from the European Innovation Council (EIC) and has created over 125 jobs. MBRYONICS is backed by the European Investment Bank and is part of Ireland's emerging deep-tech ecosystem.
