Maritime Launch Services (MLS) is a Canadian commercial launch company founded by Steve Matier and headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, developing the Canso Spaceport — a planned commercial spaceport at Canso, Nova Scotia — aimed at providing satellite launch services using the Ukrainian Zenit-2SLB rocket as its initial vehicle. The Canso site was selected for its advantageous location providing access to high-inclination and sun-synchronous orbits particularly valued for Earth observation and reconnaissance satellite constellations, combined with a low population density launch corridor to the northeast over the Atlantic Ocean. MLS received environmental approvals from the Canadian government and is a cornerstone of Canada's developing commercial space launch infrastructure. The company is also exploring partnerships with multiple rocket providers for future launch services beyond the initial Zenit platform.
