Libre Space Foundation

The Libre Space Foundation is a Greek non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion, advancement, and development of free and open-source space technologies accessible to everyone. Founded in Athens, Greece, the organization develops the SatNOGS (Satellite Networked Open Ground Stations) global network — one of the largest open-source satellite ground station networks in the world, consisting of hundreds of amateur-built ground stations that collectively provide global satellite pass coverage for the amateur radio satellite community. Libre Space Foundation also develops the UPSat nanosatellite (the first entirely open-source satellite launched in 2017) and contributes to open-source tools for satellite communication, tracking, and telemetry decoding. The foundation promotes space democratization through hardware, software, and documentation released under free and open-source licenses.
