Leonardo S.p.A. (formerly Finmeccanica) is an Italian global aerospace, defense, and security company headquartered in Rome, Italy, and listed on the Milan Stock Exchange (BIT: LDO). Leonardo is one of the world's top ten defense and aerospace companies by revenue, with operations across Italy, the United Kingdom (Leonardo DRS), and the United States. The company's Space division contributes to virtually every major European space program: Earth observation satellites (COSMO-SkyMed SAR constellation), science missions, navigation satellites (Galileo), ISS modules (designed the Harmony and Tranquility modules), robotics (ERA robotic arm for ISS), propulsion systems, and space electronics. Leonardo owns a 26.5% stake in Thales Alenia Space (the joint venture with Thales), which is one of Europe's foremost satellite manufacturers.
