About In-Space Missions
In-Space Missions Ltd is a UK satellite company founded in 2015 and headquartered in Alton, Hampshire, specializing in the design, manufacture, and operation of small satellites from 10 kg to 300 kg for defense, civil, and commercial customers. In July 2024, the company was integrated into a combined BAE Systems Space Business Unit, consolidating over 150 years of combined space expertise.
The company is best known for its Faraday hosted payload rideshare programme, which provides customers with the opportunity to fly payloads on shared satellite platforms in LEO, MEO, and GEO orbits — significantly reducing the cost and complexity of accessing space. Notable missions include the Faraday Phoenix CubeSat (launched 2021), the Azalea multi-sensor satellite cluster, and the Prometheus-2 CubeSats developed jointly with Airbus for the UK Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl).
As part of BAE Systems, In-Space Missions combines the agility of a dedicated space engineering team with the resources, supply chain relationships, and defense heritage of one of the world's largest defense companies, enabling it to serve increasingly complex government and commercial mission requirements.
