About ENPULSION GmbH

ENPULSION was founded in 2016 in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, building on more than 30 years of Field Emission Electric Propulsion (FEEP) research conducted in cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Austrian research institute FOTEC. The company specializes in compact electric propulsion systems for nanosatellites and microsatellites, using indium as a solid, room-temperature propellant that eliminates the handling and safety complexity of pressurized or toxic propellants used by many competing thruster technologies.

The company's core product lines are the ENPULSION NANO (formerly IFM Nano Thruster) and ENPULSION MICRO thruster families, offering thrust levels from tens of micronewtons up to the millinewton range with specific impulse up to 6,000 seconds. Each thruster is a fully self-contained unit integrating the propellant tank, thruster head, neutralizer, and power electronics, simplifying integration for small satellite operators performing orbit raising, station-keeping, deorbiting, and constellation phasing maneuvers.

As of the mid-2020s, ENPULSION has shipped more than 200 propulsion systems that have flown or are flying on orbit, serving commercial constellation operators, government missions, and research satellites worldwide. The company continues to expand its product range toward higher-thrust variants to support larger microsatellite platforms.
