Decen Space

Decen Space is a German space technology startup founded in 2025 and based in Berlin, developing a decentralized satellite ground station marketplace using blockchain technology to connect satellite operators with underutilized global ground station capacity. The company's Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) platform aggregates idle ground station infrastructure into a single accessible network, enabling satellite operators to access global downlink coverage on a pay-per-use basis without constructing or owning ground station assets. Decen Space's architecture is designed to deliver 40 to 60 percent cost savings for satellite operators compared to traditional ground segment access models, while enabling ground station owners to monetize unused antenna capacity. The company is an incubatee of ESA BIC Northern Germany (European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre) and has received investment from Outlier Ventures. Decen Space targets a network of dozens of ground stations in its second year of operations, scaling to more than 100 globally connected nodes by year three.
