Clutch Space Systems

Clutch Space Systems Ltd is a British space technology company founded in 2018 and based at Surrey Research Park in Guildford, developing software-defined ground segment solutions for satellite operators. The company's flagship product, CLUTCH-AnyBAND, virtualizes hardware elements of a satellite ground station into software implemented through Software Defined Radio (SDR) boards, enabling a single antenna installation to handle up to twenty satellites simultaneously rather than requiring separate hardware chains per satellite. The software-defined architecture is claimed to reduce operations and maintenance costs by more than 80 percent compared to traditional dedicated ground station infrastructure. Clutch Space collaborated with the European Space Agency (ESA) in November 2020 to install the system for spacecraft operations research and participated in the Mohammed bin Rashid Innovation Fund (MBRIF) accelerator in Dubai. Co-founder and CEO Martin Philp brings thirty years of space and technology industry experience to the company. Clutch Space has received investment from The Catalyst Accelerator, Fit 4 Start Luxembourg, Seraphim Space, and the FSE Group.
